Qc Enterprise Now the Leader in Warehouse Control System

Traditionally, a Warehouse Control System (WCS) executes instructions provided by an upper level host system, such as an ERP system or a WMS system. QC Enterprise, on the other hand, is a true Tier 1 WCS which provides advanced management capabilities including inventory control, resource scheduling and order management.

QC Enterprise is a suite of software products that encompasses all of the tools necessary to efficiently and economically operate a warehouse or distribution center. QC Software, through over ten years of research, development, and rigorous testing, has developed QC Enterprise to be modular in nature, easily configurable, platform independent, and with a scalable architecture, to satisfy the needs of any size warehouse.

QC Enterprise is comprised of four tightly integrated modules which provide state of the art warehousing capabilities and the QC Toolkit to easily configure QC Enterprise and its modules to fit any warehouse environment.

These modules are QC Navigator™, QC OMS™, QC IMS™, and QC SMS™.

QC Software is the leading provider of Tier 1 warehouse control systems to the warehousing and distribution industries. Since 1996, QC Software, utilizing state of the art technology combined with extensive research, development, and rigorous testing, has developed the QC Enterprise suite of products. Designed to be modular in nature, easily configurable, and platform independent, this highly scalable solution satisfies the needs of any size warehouse.

Qc Software Warehouse Control System Transforms Wi Distribution Center

Pleasant Company based in DeForest Wisconsin has a distribution center which is responsible for direct-mail sales of all American Girl® merchandise to millions of households around the United States. Due to performance issues with their current Warehouse Control System (WCS), in conjunction with an upcoming system expansion, Pleasant Company required a replacement WCS that could be integrated without disrupting their current operations.

The WCS had to be capable of receiving multi-stop orders from the Warehouse Management System (WMS), route the cartons to designated pick modules for order fulfillment processing, track the carton to ensure order integrity, and finally deliver the completed carton to the designated shipping lane. When QC Software’s WCS was installed, it exceeded the customer’s expectations for performance and reliability. The advanced diagnostic capabilities provided insight into various operational anomalies that were not detected with the original system. QC Software’s WCS system enabled Pleasant Company to process twice the volume that the previous system could handle with improved accuracy and performance.

According to Tom Verzi, vice-president of QC Software, “Configurability allows users to make system changes quickly and easily to handle any physical changes in the warehouse. Many of our clients have expanded their warehouses. This could be adding conveyor, adding a sorter, or anything “physical”. A quality WCS must be configurable; no hard coding is needed to “react” to physical changes within the warehouse.” Configurability also allows for quick changes; how cartons are processed within the warehouse.

Warehouse Control System by Qc Software Profiled in Quality Digest

The solutions provided by QC Software (www.qcsoftware.com) enables companies to streamline their warehouse operations with the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry ensuring increased corporate profitability. With a commitment to total customer satisfaction QC Software is the obvious choice for warehouse control, order management, and inventory management needs.

Manufacturing journalist Thomas R. Cutler discussed the configurability and quality at the distribution center in the recent issue of Quality Digest. Cutler profiled WCS leader QC Software.

According to Tom Verzi, vice-president of QC Software, a WCS firm based in Cincinnati, “Configurability allows users to make system changes quickly and easily to handle any physical changes in the warehouse.

Emulation Tools Eliminate Bottlenecks in the Distribution Center

Emulation tools allow for minimal live testing and help to identify bottlenecks in the process. This quasi-TOC (theory of constraints) is a built-in functionality in some WCS systems that recognized that testing would be required to provide the functionality of the system.

If problems occur during an emulation process quality trace messaging and debugging tools allow distributors to quickly and easily find the problem and fix it.
